Police respond to Thursday night home invasion

Danville police are investigating a Thursday night home invasion on Kemper Road. At 11:25 p.m., police responded to a report of the invasion at 700 Kemper Road. Two Danville residents told police that three unknown men were knocking on their front door yelling ‘police’ before they kicked in the door.
The victims reported two of the suspects were wearing gray hoodies, one was wearing a white T-shirt and all three of the suspects were wearing ski masks. One had a handgun, according to a news release from the police.
One of the residents went to the door with a handgun, police said. The suspect with the gun fired into the house and the resident fired back, police said.
There were no injuries and nothing was stolen from the house. Police checked the area and didn’t find any damage to surrounding houses.
