Police investigate shooting near JMU, campus on alert

The Harrisonburg Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting near James Madison University that sent one person to the hospital.

Police say it happened art about 3 a.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Bradley Drive, about one-half mile off the JMU campus.

A campus wide email was sent to students, urging them to be alert and to report any unusual circumstances or people to police.

Officers say the victim was taken to UVA’s Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
