The Danville man named Wednesday as a suspect in an armed robbery on East Thomas Street has been cleared, according to Danville Police.
Lt. Mike Mondul, police spokesman, said today the victim in the robbery, which took place shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of East Thomas Street, gave officers the name of Demetrius Lamar Farmer as a suspect. Police began searching for Farmer after warrants were obtained for robbery of a person and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Further investigation showed that this person was not involved in the robbery, Mondul said.
“At this point, the suspect in this crime is not known,” Mondul said.
