CHATHAM — The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an allegation of racial profiling made against the department, Sheriff Mike Taylor said Wednesday in a news release.

The alleged incident occurred Nov. 29 during a vehicle stop for reported drug activity on U.S. 29 in Blairs, the sheriff said. The man who filed a complaint with the sheriff’s office said he was pulled over and treated unfairly because of his race. His name has not been released by authorities.

Taylor said he has assigned investigators from the sheriff’s office’s Division of Professional Standards and Internal Affairs to look into the matter. Taylor said he “views this allegation seriously and will determine if policy and procedures of the sheriff’s office were followed in this investigation.”

Repeated attempts to contact Taylor have been unsuccessful.

The comments by ermajo shows how fasle witnesses find it easier to keep the conversation on personal spelling errors and evade the topic completely and maybe he/she should just create a blog on spelling. Anyone who would truly like end racism surely would agree that misspelled words won,t be a factor. End hate and create more love.
Ermajo maybe you can start by blog about oppression. Surely a person like you are oppressed just by me knowing that you help in create profiling or maybe I am just sterotyping your ability to have excellent spelling and arrogant opinions about a klandestine police style that clearly targets citizen beacuase they haven’t suffer from enough goverment taxation and their families need not to fight in any more wars. Maybe, just maybe all police should be look at as new saints blameless and sinless. By the way, you know that police never ever, ever, break any laws at all. As a matter of fact police are all righteous so there is no need for salvation. It’s comments like Ermajo’s that make me think being pulled over all the time is normal and I am wrong for having any constitutional rights as a citizen. As a matter a fact what happen to wonder full shackles from slavery. Does handuffs remind you of something innocent people should be in. Maybe if ermajo is pulled over enough eventually he’ll be break the law or maybe he does fit the description of a suspect. By the way I always look like a suspect, even when I misspelled words.

My dearest DWB, It’s hard to take you seriously with the amount of spelling errors in your rather ridiculous tirade.  If you were stopped and/or arrested, I am willing to bet there was a valid reason.  Here’s a tip for future posts - spellcheck!!!

I have surffered my whole life from traffic stops and frivilous arrests. I have been aquitted 17 times and detain falsely 8 times. I am 39 years old and never been I any serious trouble with the police. At this rate of Local and State police abusing there power and using theie office to gain monetary controll is illegal, racial profiling is wrong. Because of racial profiling it prevents all citizen the right to find good employment because of their drivers license and legal problems. It destroys the fathers ability to govern his family and cause the family to suffer. It also biulds a strong stereotype that destroys the image of the individual and causes division and public mistrust between the communities of minorites and polarizes them to not engage in any form of crime witnessing. This strateghic selective enforcement elevates the risk of a person to potentially become involve in a criminal mind set, that creates the view that cop are crocked.
For all it’s worth, End racial profiling and learn to love you neighbors. Just a thought…..

Sounds like someone claiming a DWB. Well maybe I should claim a DWG (driving while gay)when they pull me over. Sounds like some guilty person complaining.
