The domestic assault and battery charges against Danville Police Sgt. Jerry Pace were dismissed Wednesday in Pittsylvania County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
Pace was arrested on Sept. 30 and released on bond. At the time, Lt. John Henderson said Pace was placed on administrative leave, but would not comment on how long that leave would last.
A news release from Lt. Mike Mondul on Wednesday said Pace had been assigned to desk duty pending the outcome of the hearing, and he has been reinstated to active duty as a result of the court decision.

I would hate for him to go to a domestic disturbance and I would be the girl getting beat up!

Last time everyone was so determined that Pace was guilty they wanted to see him convicted. When he went for his 1st appearance, Chief Broadfoot even said he was returning him to work on the desk. Now that he has been found not guilty, what do you all want. Let’s move on and let Pace get back to the job he is being paid to do. That that is solving cases. Do you all remember what Bill Fuller Said, If it had not been for Pace not wanting to give up, they would not have found the evidence to convict the fellow in the Bates murder? It was Pace that felt they had not searched everywhere and it was Pace that found the evidence needed.

I agree with you Seal, where are all the comments now? Maybe the acquittal does not rise to the “tabloid” level readers are accustomed to.

Well Pace as always good job. One could only notice that there were no comments like when the article first hit about the arrest. Just goes to show the small town mentality in good old Danville,Virginia. To those that need to know SGT.Pace happens to be one of the top guns for Danville PD and is highly dedicated to his job and the people of the community. The only people I know that speak negative of him is the people with something to hide or a position of jealousy.
