DANVILLE — An electric hair dryer lying on a bed appears to be the cause of a Monday fire on Grove Street, according to the Danville Fire Department.
Assistant Fire Chief R.K. Harvey said heavy smoke was pouring out of a window at 855 Grove St. when units arrived shortly after 12:30 p.m. The fire was contained to apartment 1-A and the blaze was quickly extinguished, he said.
People living in the apartment building were rescued by firefighters, and no one was hurt, Harvey said.
