Democratic Congressional Candidate Tom Perriello’s campaign is calling on TV stations to pull a false ad run by Congressman Virgil Goode.

In the television ad, a faceless announcer says that Perriello is against offshore drilling and quotes a June article from the Danville Register & Bee where Perriello says “Drilling is a two cent solution to a four dollar problem.”

The Perriello campaign correctly points out that the entire quote reads: “I support more drilling as one piece of a much bolder strategy for relief,” Perriello said. “But those who think drilling alone will make a dent in prices are offering a 2-cent solution to a $4 problem.”
