Authorities have recaptured a Nottoway Work Center inmate who walked away from a work detail yesterday afternoon in Burkeville.

Jermaine Lamont Brown was recaptured about 10:30 last night without incident, said Larry Traylor, a spokesman for the Virginia Department of Corrections.

Brown, 25, is serving a five-year sentence for attempted robbery, grand larceny and solicitation.

He disappeared from his work detail about 1 p.m.
