Danville native dies from injuries suffered in crash

Dr. Allan Frederick Moore died Thursday at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on July 12 in suburban Philadelphia. He was 31.
His wife, Dr. Rebekah Gee, along with his parents, Dr. Michael A. and Janet Moore, and his father-in-law, Ohio State University President E. Gordon Gee were at his bedside when he died, according to a news release from the university. He is survived by a brother and his parents.
Moore was a native of Danville and was a fellow in endocrinology and practiced internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Moore, a 1995 graduate of George Washington High School, graduated with high honors from the University of Virginia in 1999, earning bachelor’s degrees in government and foreign affairs.
Rebekah Gee, who also was injured in the accident, is undergoing rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Funeral and memorial service arrangements are pending.

The world has suffered a great loss with the passing of this wonderful person. Allan was the smartest and kindest person I’ve ever met and I will always remember him fondly. My thoughts and prayers go out to Allan’s family in their time of grief.
