CHATHAM — Deputies with the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Danville man Tuesday night after finding crack cocaine and marijuana in his vehicle, Sheriff Mike Taylor said Wednesday.

Kenneth Darnell Jones, 23, of 309 Seeland Road in Danville, was arrested after deputies searched his car and found about six ounces of crack cocaine and an ounce of marijuana in his leased 2009 Chevrolet Impala, Taylor said in a news release. The drugs have a street value of about $7,200, the release states.

Jones was arrested near Strawberry Road and Franklin Turnpike in Dry Fork and charged with the manufacture, sale and possession of a controlled substance and with possession of marijuana. He was released from jail on a $5,000 secured bond.
