DANVILLE — A car ran into a bicycle at the intersection of Glenn and Third streets Sunday afternoon, sending one to the hospital.
The bicyclist, an underage male, was transported to Danville Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, said Danville Police Sgt. J.W. McLaughlin.
The incident occurred at 3:11 p.m.
The car, a 1998 Mazda Protégé, traveled south on Glenn Street while the bicyclist headed west on Third Street. The boy had gained momentum going down the street before turning onto Glenn to head north, t-boning with the Mazda, McLaughlin said. The driver, who was traveling the speed limit, saw the bicyclist and hit the brakes ahead of time, McLaughlin said.
No charges have been filed. The incident is still under investigation.
