13 Year old arrested in connection with Wednesday night robbery

Danville police arrested a 13-year-old male early Thursday morning in connection with a robbery on Piney Forest Road. At 12 a.m., police responded to a report that the clerk at the Exxon at 1415 Piney Forest Road had been robbed at gunpoint. T

he clerk reported that a black male carrying a rifle entered the store and demanded the money from the cash register. The robbery was captured on video, and an off-duty officer saw the suspect leave the parking lot on a bicycle, according to a news release from the police department.

Officers went to Woodside Village and spotted a male fitting the description run from the area of one of the Dumpsters, the release states. Police secured the area and located evidence from the crime. Police also used K-9 assistance to track the suspect, who they found in a building.

The male, whose name is being withheld due to his age, was charged with armed robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

my god,13 years old! see what is becoming of our children all because of the society they are growing up in and the role models that they have to look up to. this child will be a murderer by the time he is 20 years old. its sickening.

Why hold his name? He is charged with a felony.
