Lynchburg police charge man in Super 8 shooting

Police have charged a man in connection with a fatal shooting at a motel on Candlers Mountain Road early Sunday morning.
Lynchburg Police obtained warrants for the arrest of Marcious Antoine Cousins on Tuesday, charging him with first-degree murder.
Police are attempting to locate Cousins, 25, whom they described as 6 feet tall, 175 pounds.
Cousins is charged with the murder of Michael Colton Blanchard Jr., 24, of Lynchburg. Blanchard was shot in the parking lot of the Super 8 motel at 3736 Candlers Mountain Road at 3:28 a.m. Sunday.
Capt. Todd Swisher said Blanchard was at the motel for a party in one of the rooms.
