64-year-old Martinsville woman charged with stabbing husband

MARTINSVILLE — A Martinsville woman has been charged with stabbing her husband multiple times at their home on Branch Street early Sunday morning.
The Martinsville Police Department responded to a 6:45 a.m. call from Carlton Eanes Jr., who said he had been stabbed by his wife, according to a news release from the city’s public information officer, Scott Coleman.
Officers E.R. Martin and J.C. France found Caroline Sue Eanes, 64, in the living room holding a knife and Carlton Eanes Jr., 50, lying on the floor with stab wounds to his chest, abdomen and one leg, authorities said.
The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County, then transferred to Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, N.C., where he underwent emergency surgery.
He is reportedly recovering in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
Caroline Eanes is charged with felony malicious wounding and is being held without bond at Martinsville City Jail.
