Firefighters responded to a structure fire at 405 Scales Street at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Assistant Fire Chief Steve Dishman said that the crews were told all occupants were out of the building when the firefighters arrived. Heavy fire and smoke were concentrated at the back of the small home and smoke conditions “rapidly worsened,” he said.
