Police received an emergency call at 1:40 p.m. The boy’s father, Alejandro Ramos, of 1204 Bethel Lane in Martinsville, Va., said he finished a game of soccer and noticed the boy was missing. Bystanders said they saw the boy and two other children playing by a picnic shelter about 12:15. Ramos and others began searching for the boy unsuccessfully. A park employee called police.

Reidsville man arrested on drug charge

A Reidsville police detective served a warrant for Ronald Demaine Poteat’s arrest on Saturday afternoon. Poteat, 29, of 510 Carroll St., Reidsville, was arrested without incident for possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
