Reidsville Federated Woman’s Club’s Fall Market
Celebrate the fall season and do some shopping at the same time this weekend at the Reidsville Federated Woman’s Club’s Fall Market. The market is today and Saturday at the Zion Baptist Church multipurpose center at 807 Piedmont St.
“Everybody seems to be really excited about it. We’ve worked really hard on it and I think we’re going to have a good market,“ said Terresia Scoble, market chairwoman. “Last year was the first year we were able to have it at Zion Baptist, and that experience was a blessing.“
The market had been held at the Reidsville YMCA but was moved to Zion Baptist because of parking and space needs. Scoble said market vendors and customers welcomed the change in venue.
The market will have 40 vendors from North Carolina. Several new vendors will take part in this year’s fall market, among them a hand-painted stationary artist and Caroline’s Tastefully Simple Treats, which offers gift baskets, recipes, dips, breads and sauces. Other vendors are Wooden Crafts by Ben Dominick of Reidsville; Bejeweled Creations, handcrafted jewelry by Barbara Conroy; Pattie Apple’s handmade greeting cards, jewelry and other gift items; Gayle Janet of Reidsville’s original sewing on household items and clothing; and Emo Designs and Cuts of Elon - painted items such as wine bottles, floral designs and gift baskets.
Lunch will be served today and Saturday. The women of Zion Baptist Church will cook Saturday’s meal. The cost of a meal is $6. Various desserts will be available. Lunch will be served 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. People can buy a ticket for a chance to win an original painting by a local artist. The proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Salvation Army of Reidsville.
Admission to the fall market is $1. Use the parking lot off Harrison Street.
